Any grease to bushings on trim cylinders?

Hello all,

Have trim cylinders disconnected while replacing water pump in Alpha 1 outdrive. Should any type of grease be applied to the rubber bushings on the trim cylinder ends. Old ones seemed dry, but to me they are asking for some kind of water proof grease when reattached.

Thanks,
Eric

i should have read my s/m, it'd probably have told me that answer to the question, but i didn't.
for my 1 drive which is similar to your alpha1 i put 2-4-c on the pin only. left the rubber dry. don't know if that was right or not, but i've certainly heard of the pin being stuck and can't get it out so figured some grease there would be the thing to do. maybe someone else read the s/m and can let us know the facts. ;)

Ayuh,... While it isn't Necessary,...
It'll make disassembley easier later to lightly coat 'em with Grease...

no grease there...... not needed and makes for a messy job..... your old bushings may well be hard but it is not from lack of grease but rather from age...

I grease them with 24C, along with the pin. Makes it go together just a bit easier.
