i guess this may not draw a big crowd, but i cannot get the friggin spindle to seat against the steering knuckle on this dana30... the knuckle has 6 studs around the hole the axle goes through. the spindle is flanged with the holes to slide down the studs.

i have not been able to get the spindle (a hollow outer shaft the splined axle protrudes from) to slip on. i've rotated it thru all 6 studs positions, using the keyway slot as a marker. wiggling by hand, even with wooden punch rod, brass hammer, etc. it seems the studs may have to be heated to slightly move and allow the spindle flange to go on, but i don't think that is an option, with the temper factor.

anyone got any good tricks/experience doing this?

Anytime you want to beat something together, or
bend something to make it fit. That cant be good.
look for key spline on the shaft or something
that would stop it from meshing.

Good job ebb, Sometimes its a good idea if you are
having a problem to leave it for a while and then
go back later with a fresh start it can make
things easier.
