My youngest, Hayden, 11yrs, has an absolute fascination and obcession with Ships, namely older Passenger ships.
Last Xmas we gave his a 1/400 scale model of Titanic.
Took him 6mth to put together, with my assistance. There is little he dosn't know of this ship and story. Reads everything he can on it.
What he wants now is a Model of either the Lusitainia or the Britanica.
The Model Shops have been through there records, I have been through the internet, but been unable to find either of these 2.
Maybe there is a smaller manufacturer somewhere that does these ships as models. Does anyone know?
The model has to be plastic, and it has to have a lot of small parts, so it keeps him occupied in the evening for a long time :D
Cheers
Phillip

When I was a kid, I spent all my allowance and paper route money on models. I never remember seeing either of those ships represnted.

I really hope you can find at least one of them.

Advice..........I spent most of the 6 months scratching my head wondering what to do next. The instructions were difficult to comprehend, and I needed a magnifying glass in from of my old-age glasses to see some of the parts. Fortunately the little bloke was able to lead the way.
If I can't find either of these 2, I may have to go Q.Mary or QE. for his Xmas present.
Hayden has never wanted to be a policeman, Fireman, Bus or Engine Driver, just a ships Captain.
Cheers
Phillip

Thank you for that ZFM.
I hadn't been able to find that site before, nor the ship Lusitania.
I will go ahead and get it for him.
Yes it is expensive, but it will keep him occupied for months (in evenings) and it is a lot better than putting him in from of the idiot box.
Thanks
Phillip

to ZFM.
I havn't been able to get on to uboats for some time, so this is a bit late.
I managed to get the model Lusitania here in Australia, only by giving them the site you quoted above, that had all relevant detail for ordering. (it is a big one too with plenty of small parts).
Yes, it is expensive, but it will keep young Hayden busy for 6 months building it and purging the local libraries for books on it. He is fanatical about old passenger ships.
It is his Xmas present.
Thank you for your time and effort ZFM. Very much appreciated.
Cheers
Phillip
Phillip
