Any one seen a gimbal housing with a tube like this?

New boat but this is a new one on me. This does not seem to be in my service manual.

What it looks like to me is a tube someone has used to, I don't know, run the trim sender wires through.??? You are going to have to either post up clearer photos, or investigate where that tube goes to and from... It's definitely not standard issue!

No, it butchery! It's just someone being too damn lazy to do the job properly. I can not, and never will, condone a hacked up job.... Sorry for getting het up, but this is just plain unacceptable for me...

I did not see it before but it looks like 2 wires inside. They may go to the trim indicators.
