I found polyester resin at lowes and bought a gallon. I need to know if it will be fine to lay up fiberglass on the floor of my boat?

What kind of layup and how much are you doing? What glass are you using? Mat or Cloth? What is the purpose of the project? Got any pics? In other words we need a lot more details. But in general, the resin sold at the Home stores is pretty much CRAP!!!!

Most of the resins at the big box stores (aka lowes, Home depot) are waxed polyester resins. My expirence with them is no good. I would find somewhere else to buy unwaxed resin. Much better and easier to work with,

Re: Any problem with Rustoleum polyester resin?

Thanks that is what I wanted to find out. I am going to pull the floor off a boat and I don't know what I will find when I get in there. I have read alot and I just had this question. I had read a thread and someone talked about the waxed resin. I didn't know that I had bought waxed resin. I will take it back and go on the internet and buy my supplies. Thanks for input!! I have alot of studing before I start. I have just started........

Start a restore thread, and You will be able to ask all your questions in 1 place, and they will all be answered.

Also make sure to post a LOT of pics.
