The daughter of the One Woman Iboats Widow Parade, kindly dubbed The One Girl Wet Blanket Parade, has finally allowed me the honor of getting her Windows ME equipped puter back on the net ... this after her other daddy slapped a 160 Gig drive in yon ME and bolted for Maine, (safety in numbers ... miles that is!)

The problem is, after installing the Linksys wireless DSL USB hookup, which worked fine before, ME cannot read the internet ... Linksys sent a driver, its installed, yet the connection wizard cant get the thing on there

any tips tricks something Im missin here folks? I suddenly realize how my dad felt when the transistor radio broke, and he wanted to take the tubes over and test em (hey you old timers, REMEMBER TUBE TESTERS???)

LOL, if it wasnt happening to me, I would never believe it, not only am I a daddy, but I am a generation gap behind, lol

at least the kid comes to me with problems, which I can almost always handle. So come on you puter junkies, make this daddy look smart!!!

 :p  :p  :p

Power everything down completely - everything. Wait 30 seconds and repower staring with wireless hub. Unplug power cords as necessary to remove all power.

Then, simply click on Interner explorer and see if it connects. If it doesn't try the connecton wizard then and select connect via LAN.

If this does not work we need to get more specific becuase I can't tell how you are setup from your post.

Re: any puter geeks on here?

Depending on how new the Linksys is it might have USB 2.0 and the machine may not. If this is the case then you will need to either get a USB 2.0 card or see if your motherbaord BIOS can be flashed for support. I have tried 2.0 emulation through XP before but not sure if ME has it. Other than that a better description of what exactly you have would be very helpful (ie: comp model if dell, compaq, etc. MObo model with bios model, what model of linksys, etc.) Sorry i couldn't be more help

Ray, What type of connection does the DSL router have to your Computer? I have not had the pleasure of dealing with them yet.
