I am currently making the transition from Auto Cad to Solid Works and am looking for a good SW forum.

Great choice Limited!!
I'm not sure of any good forums on Solidworks...perhaps off their website?
That said, I've been on Solidworks since about 2000-ish. I still use/run Autocad but rarely...given the SW advantages.
Its a great program although its a little tough at first to get used to and to use to the best of its advantages...which are immense.
If you give me an idea of what you're general design/detail intent is I may be able to give you some good preliminary tips. They will help keep your design files quick, flexible and useful.
Again, glad to be of assistance...just let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

....I forgot to ask, what version are you running? As well, usually the local SW supplier/support company will offer day courses...usually about 3-5 days, which are helpful but somewhat expensive.

BP1, It's the latest version. As for the classes I'm keeping it as an option. I'm currently devoting a few hours a day to "SW time". I seem to be doing OK. Would you consider reviewing a file for me? I'd be interested in your opinion and comments.. . . . . . . . . . tommays, Don't be. The frustration is nothing to envy. And why don't my "smiles" work any more??:( :(

Limited, I'd be glad to help with any files you might have. Just send me a PM with the file(s) attached and let me know what you might be looking for.
All good.
