Good day to all. I'm repowering my 32 foot 1967 ChrisCraft Sea Skiff. She is all wood and fiberglass. Im the 3rd owner.
She was 1st build with an I/O (not sure what it was I believe it was rated at 200+ hp) until the second owner decided to overhaul the boat with a new configuration.
The 2nd owner took out the original engine in the rear and put a 4 cylinder Isuzu diesel at midship with a shaft, brass prop, and rear rudder. He also added a pilot house and a keel made of fiber glass from bow to stearn. The boat weight is 12k lbs. at the marina's scale.
The problems is that she will not go over 7 kn at max RPM (2300) and now the engine is dead. I had an old lady pass me on a single paddle kayak and I have difficulty going under the Narrows Bridge in Tacoma WA.
I want to repower the boat with twin 150hp outboards as propulsion. I want to install an aluminum engine transom to the aft of the boat. Am I high smoking weed or is this a possible project? Any thoughts...
