Any tips on separating an Alpha 1?

I've got my stand built, drive in forward, speedo disconnected, and 6 bolts off... but it's stuck on which I'm guessing is from being on so long (previous owner). I've tried a small "down bounce" on the stand, but no dice. Still stuck. Any tips to pop loose the drive from the gasketed area?

What about the trim cylinders?

If they are still connected and working they can pop those outdrives right off.

Attach the rams, place a piece of wood between the housing cap and the transom. Bump your up trim switch slowly and walk the drive off by adding additional spacing...

It should come off, just keep giving it a whack and a bump til it starts to move.

Do you have the trim rams off so you can grab the entire drive and tug?

Kept working on it and finally got it loose. Just a super tight seal on the gasket. Now, I can only hope that I get that good of seal going back together (well, maybe not "quite" that good ;)). Thanks for the feedback, guys.

I guess I was thinking the worst. I was stuck, rusted, to the coupler or gimble bearing. Now thats a challenge. Glad it was a "good" gasket.

Yep, I think it was just a super tight seal. Got it off, on the stand, and new gaskets in hand. Now, I've got to tackle the engine removal to install a new fly wheel ring gear. :(
