Any way to stop annoying Suzuki start-up beep?

Is there any way to shut off the annoying start-up beep on a Suzuki? Any fuses or wires that can be disconnected? I am sure it is there for safety to alert people that you are starting, but man I hate the thing. You are in a quiet, serene setting and then you hit the key and that beep seems to carry for miles. Only outboard I have owned that has it. By the way, it is a 2000 Sukuki 30hp.

thanks for any tips.

sure, simply clip the wires on the alarm horn, that way you can run her till she pukes without hearing that annoying buzzer.
what your hearing is a type of self test that sounds until all systems are normal.
its supposed to do that.
I cant tell you how many thousands, yes thousands of motors over the past 30 years I have seen blown up that the horn had failed and as years gone by they did not self test the operator wasnt aware the horn was bad until the powerhead puked.
thats why most all modern stuff has a horn self test function, except single engine yamahas and that I still dont understand.
however the engineers rarely consult us techs.
but no, there really isnt a satisfactory way to get around your horn issue, if it ever fails to sound at least you know something is broke.

Thanks for the reply. Thought the overheat horn was located on the motor, so nevermind.

my merc does the same thing, try putting a layer of duct tape on the beeper under the controls, that way it will be not as loud, but you will still hear it, if need be!

Are you talking about the one from the remote control? Or the engine?

For the remote control on my Suzuki, it is to tell me that the fuel pump is pressurized. You want that before you start it since it is EFI, not carborated. There are also warning beeps depending on the hours to tell me I need to change the oil. Check a wiring diagram and it will show you what to clip if you really want it dead.

Better yet, get used to it as a good sign your motor is working.
