Well I have two boats now, one aluminum and in need of a complete restoration, which since I bought the fully usable boat with a trailer and motor, I am wondering, has anyone taken an aluminum boat to the recyclers and what did they pay you, I know a few weeks ago, beer cans were worth almost .50cents a pound, just trying to get a handled on my best options with this boat, that my wife don't want sitting in the yard!

I would guess that they would give you "clean" price for it (about 50-60 cents/pound), but you should definitely check with the scrap yard. Usually you can just call and ask - there is pretty much nothing they haven't heard before, so they'll know the answer.

Ayuh,... I'm not now, but have junked a couple,...
I've put a 21' starcraft holiday in the backyard for a year...(stripped it Clean 1st)
I then throw every scrap of aluminum I could lay my hands on for that year into it...
From tinfoil to engine castings,... All Free....
Then I winched it onto my boat trailer,+ hauled it to the scrapper's in Syracuse,...

Made over a Grand,... Both times....

Most scrap metal places will only pay the same amount that they give for aluminum siding...... which is MUCH lower then regular aluminum prices.
