Anybody familiar with the Mercury 2 barrel mercarbs? (1985 model)
On the carb fuel filter, does the spring go in the filter, pushing away from the flow
(as on the mercury parts page)or, the way I found it... pushing the filter toward back toward the gasket and fuel flow?

Re: Anybody familiar with MerCarb ?

I have a 1993 3.0LX Mercruiser (135HP) I/O..... the web in the carb throat that supports the stud that holds the flame arrestor has broken loose completely (both ends and the middle connection to the carb body)...... I am assuming that there is no repair other than to replace the carb in its entirety..... with that in mind, should I go back with an exact replacement (and possibly suffer the same fate again with the broken web), or install a different carb? ...... I have been satisfied with the performance of the engine absent this carb failure....... any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.......

OLD 2003 Thread

Start a new thread Crownline, don't just tack on to someone elses, even if it is old. Lots of people never read other that the first question.
