It should be a good classic.if the weather holds up there should be some hefty bags weighed in.

When they come here, and show the industry here some respect I would consider watching. Until then it's Charlie Moore!

HA charlie moore is a joke. Boats cant go 70 in the ice up there. The classic will be great if the fish are in spawn and they can catch some hogs. Although I dont think the bedding fish should be caught, but it makes for good TV I guess. Lets see if KVD can win it back to back.

Dont despair......I don't think it is unreasonable that Lake Champlain will be in the cards for a future classic.

Last year I had the opportunity to go to Pittsburgh for the 2005 Classic. Other than the morning blast off's, I only was able to experience the Outdoor Expo since I went to work as a rep.

Fla is a little too far to do again. Next time it comes above the Mason Dixon line, I hope to take the family along and make some of the other events which the classic offers.

Are we to know what "the classic" is?

The Bassmaster CLASSIC (previously the All Amereican) is the pro fishermans equivalant of the NFL Superbowl, PGA Masters, or the World Series Pennant. Since ESPN now owns Bassmasters, they are really playing it up as a competetive sport. The CLASIC is represented by a field of 50 top anglers that have won their way to the top through a number of local, regional, and national tournaments.

The CLASSIC is a 3 day event (Fri, Sat, Sun) as anglers fish from 7AM until 3PM and then are towed into a big arena sporting their biggest catch of the day. After the second day, the field is cut to 25 anglers. The angler with the heaviest weight recognizes a purse of over 1 million dollars in prize money and manufacturer endorsements.

Ancillary events include the morning sendoff where thousands of spectators gather to the playing of the national anthem, hear the media and anglers discuss strategy, and then watch anglers race off to their first fishing spot. The Casting Kids event enables children to exhibit and be recognized for their casting skills. The outdoor expo is a huge outdoor industry trade show to see and talk about the latest and greatest products with manufacturer reps. The weigh in is right up there with the excitement of a rock concert as pyrotechnics, music, and a roaring crowd contribute to the excitement of anglers success for the day. Other than your means of transportation and lodging, all Classic events are FREE.

For more information visit bassmaster.com

Come on! you're kidding me right? If you see Charlie Moore, tell him to bring his chartreuse spinner baits to Indiana and I'll whip his butt. The show probably won't make it to TV since he'll gets beat very badly. But seriously, if there is a big enough bass (the fresh water kind, not saltwater striper that ya'll simply called bass) fishing market in the Northeast. I'm sure BASS would make there way up there. I agreed that Champlain would make a perfect Classic site if the Class is still held in the summer, not so good in Feb. The BASS tour has a stop at Champlain this year and another one close by too.
