I just got this unit to replace my Garmin 76, which STB on me last weekend.
The regular 76 was butt simple to use . . . this new one looks like you have to be a rocket scientist to set things up and use it.
The biggest thing so far is that it looks like it comes with no marine navigational maps ??? My old '76' unit had basic buoy information and could be used for marine navigation right out of the box. With this new 76Cx, it looks like you have to shell out another $160 for navigational maps
Am I missing something here?
I read the user's manual, but it is highly evasive in this area. So, any voices of experience with the GPSMAP 76Cx out there?? I could sure use some guidance on this. Thanks.
