Anybody have a CDI for an 87 DT30?

No spark again.
I've ohmed everything out and it starts from time to time and actually runs pretty well when it starts but now, right before the good fishing, I have no spark again.
Edit
I came upon an old thread that a member named rodbolt had one but I'm not sure he's still on the forum?
You can pm me.
Any help appreciated.
To get an idea of where I've been with this issue see this thread:http://forums.iboats.com/yamaha-suz...0-has-orange-spark-when-has-spark-627569.html
thanks in advance
Rob

Took the flywheel off and checked out the coils. Cleaned everything up including the flywheel. Took another ohm reading directly across the coils. Everything looks good and ohms out to spec.
I've been all over the wiring and grounds. Cleaned everything up.
Unless there is some switch somewhere that's preventing spark the only thing I can think off is the CDI?
I don't mind spending the money to buy one but it costs as much as the engine is worth when it's running. And, it's not running.
thanks EDIT

Could have predicted it!!! Put the starter back on this morning. Gave it a little choke. Turned the key and it fired right up.
I don't trust this thing one bit and I can't in good conscience even sell it in this condition.
The only things I noticed when the flywheel was off was a little grease on the flywheel and the flywheel nut didn't seem to be torqued down enough.
Does anybody think either of these could be the problem?
I'd still like to try out another CDI.
thanks

On a 1987 year motor I would disconnect and reconnect every connector several times. Purpose would be to scrub off any corrosion there might be. Visually inspect both the female and male terminals and the condition of the wires. Remove the ground terminals and clean them with a light abrasive such as green scotchbrite. Don't forget the cdi terminals.

You are working with a low voltage system. Any voltage drop due to a wire or connection issue can cause a problem.

I am not implying this will solve your problem, but it might. Cheap and not much time to do it.

Thanks Boscoe, that's good advice.
I'll have another look at the wiring.
Took the boat out tonight for a spin. It started ok but ran like crap.
Wouldn't idle and couldn't get to top end.
Probably messed the timing up when I removed the flywheel?
At least it started.
I feel like I'm putting too much time into working on this motor. I have a 97 Evinrude 50hp sitting on a stand in my garage. Maybe it's time to hook it up?
