Anybody have a manuel for 1969 evinrude starflite 85 hp?

My mechanic of a husband tore apart our motor and fiddle faddled around till now the darn thang won't crank at all. He's too cheap to go buy a manual for the diagrams for the wiring and I was wondering if any of you gentlemen out there might already have one and can help a lady out.

You really should try to get him to buy that manual. Saves time ,agravation,frustration and <br />money.Gets you back on the water!! You know that<br />old expression the man who works on his motor without a manual has a fool for a mechanic.<br />Bottom line: where would you be right now if you had the manual in the first place.I have 2 manuals<br />for my Merc. And evinrude/johnson And I feel real good about the $44 I have invested.Sorry my manual only goes to 40hp.<br />Good luck

Hi Leah<br />I don't blame anybody for not wanting to spend money. But the cheepest thing you can buy for your motor is a manual. So most public librarys have manuals. Dosen't cost a thing. Our tax dollars at work.

Howdy Miz Leah,<br />Get that husband of yours the right manual for that engine. Go to Ken Cook.com and get the factory manual. While you're (or hubby) is there, go ahead and get the parts book. Leah,<br /><br />THere are quite a few manuals for sale on e-bay. Even one for a Johnson/Evinrude 1969 85 hp. It's at $14.95 or "buy now" for $15.95. THe e-bay item # is: 1827733014. <br /><br />Go to e-bay search and type in: outboard manual.

Hi gang........just wanted to say "thank you" to all of you that responded both to this question and my husbands previous question about his problem with the boat. He did manage to find an "original" manual for the motor at one of the marine shops on the coast but ended up not needing it because my cousin looked at it and the problem was the ignition switch the whole time! So $15.00 later and weeks of messin around we are finally takin this thang out on the water this weekend for our "madien" voyage! Will let you know how it goes......be sure to tune into the other pages for a "true but funny" story....I'm sure I'll have something to report after this weekend!<br /><br />Love Leah
