Anybody own or have owned a WetJet?

I've searched this forum and noone ever posted anything about WetJet. Our bike has been completely trouble free (with the exception of a split water line that cooked the engine, they put a new one in it free of charge and it's been crusing ever since) since 1996. I guess there isn't much to ask about it since it runs like a clock.

I was just curious to know if I'm the only one with a WetJet.

Re: Anybody own or have owned a WetJet?

I bought an 1988 Wetjet brand new in 1988. I had never owned a boat or PWC before. I had no idea about winterization, starting running it out of water, general maintenance, etc. The only problem I ever had with it was the little plastic shear pin on the impeller. It would shear off very easily, especially when jumping boat wakes and catching some air, then slamming back down into the water at near full throttle. I finally replaced it with a, believe it or not, 8 penny finish nail.

Loved that little 40HP wetjet, pulled a skier with it once (illegally because I didn't have a spotter on board).

Like I said, never did the proper maintenance, ran it off the water without muffs, never had a problem with the engine... I was young and stupid, and lucky, I guess. Sold it in 1992 to pay for a roof on the house...

We've never really had a problem with ours. I took it out this weekend and it ran better than it ever has before, never missed and idled as long as I wanted it to.

Great bike!

Yeah, like I said, I beat the crap out of it and it just kept running. Post some pics! What year? What color?

I don't have a picture of it right now. It's the Duo 300. It's purple and white, it looks brand new. I'll make sure to get you a picture of it next time we go to the camp.

It's a 1995, upgraded to the 1996 model with the new engine and drive system.

Oh, OK. Mine was actually a brand called WetJet, which was not part of Yamaha at the time. I wonder if Yamaha bought WetJet (I think they were a Minnesota company) at some point?
Here's what mine used to look like (this picture isn't my actual WetJet, just one I found on the I-net that look exactly like mine):
Mine doesn't have those Yamaha stickers. The reason he has them on there is because all Wetjet is is a Mastercraft hull and a Yamaha engine. My brand is wetjet as well, the stickers are even similiar to yours.

It's a mastercraft design. Yamaha did not buy out the company.

Yes, they are very reliable, not super performers though.

Looking for CDI Box for 1988 Wet Jet with 432 Brut engine.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
