Instead of carpet, I'm wondering if I could lay rubber flooring down over epoxied plywood? It's nonslip, tough, and won't be damaged by water and easy to remove and clean. Plus I wouldn't have to mess with any more adhesives.

other than being heavy not problem, there are several products for that. Commercial Kitchen Mats work well also.

Won't being covered with rubber keep it out of sunlight? I want to get a mat and cut to shape... no more messing with painting. I found some that is only 4mm in thickness, which should be enough to make a soft flooring and not be overly heavy.

rubber sweats unless you have some air hole in it.

So what happened? Did you do it?
Love the Snap-On screwdriver in the picture, $60 may seem like a lot, but you'll never need another!

The wind blew his rubber matting overboard while he was underway because it wasn't fastened down.

I don't really know... seems like that might be a problem though.
