I just read about a guy who sent a set of injecotrs to a shop and turns out had a few completely clogged injecotors. Would injecotr cleaner fix that or keep it form happening? I use it in my gas powered vehicles but not sure about diesels.

Some shops have a diesel injector cleaning equipment that works well in most situations. Over the counter cleaners don't work well as a rule and are a wast of money. As Bondo said quality fuel and regular fuel filter changes are the way to keep them clean.

As stated, your best bet is filters and the correct ones for your engine.

Another is high quality fuel. The US standard for diesel cetane is 37 +/- 2.

Diesel engine makers today require 45 cetane. Read the manual. Use a cetane boost for optimum fuel burn.

DO NOT use diesel cetane boosters that contain alcohol. Read the label. Alcohol has NO lubrication qualities and will make short work of precision injectors.
