I am contemplating parting out my engine. Everything is good except the block and one piston. I will be parting out everything. This engine is a 1997 Evinrude Ocean Pro.

My question is anyone part out individual components on Ebay and how much total $ did you get for that engines parts? Please note what was sold or just say the whole engine except...

Yup, just completed.

I parted out a 1988 Johnson 60 (triple looper). I recouped 90% of my investment.

I kept some stuff because they were exact replacements for my 1994 Johnson 70.

I received 100% satisfied feedback because:

1. My product was EXACTLY as stated.

2. I didn't sell "junk" without stating that it was junk.

3. I shipped FAST and usually less than quoted. I refunded buyers the difference.

It takes a lot of time to part out a motor via eBay. Creating all the different listings, and taking well lit pictures, is the way to burn a weekend easily. Try not to expect too much for parts. Making prices to high will not encourage people to bid. Make your starting bid 50-60% of what you would like to get for that specific part, and make bidders fight for the item. Or you can start the bidding real low on smaller parts, and end up getting more than you would have listed it as an outright " Buy It Now". You can also post stuff on multiple forums, for free. Make a list of what you have, and what you want for that specific part, and post it to the classifieds section. I have sold many items that way. Good Luck. I may buy a few thing from ya. I have a 1996 200 Ocean Pro. Always looking for spare parts...
