My wife and I bought ourselves a new 42" LG HDTV and a bluray this year for Christmas. The TV was the model that is internet connected.

The internet connection allows you to stream Netflix, Youtube, and a service called Vudu. Vudu is an on demand movie rental service.

I have to say that it works extrmelely well. I only have a 1.5mb DSL connection and it streams movies at DVD quality immediately and without hiccups. If I had a 7+mbs connection it has the option of streaming 1080P quality.

It works much better than streaming netflix as the quality is much better.

I don't have cable so this is my on-demand service. It has new releases when they are avaiable to rent. I can forget about having to go to blockbuster..

If your device does not have Vudu, you can buy a set top box that does the streaming.

Just wondering if anyone else uses this service.

I have never used it, but it comes up on my BlueRay so that I can if I want to. How much is it per movie?

edit: I just went to the VuDu website and it's pretty bad. It seemed clutsy and an awkard arrangement to me. If they can't build a decent storefront, I wonder about their service and product.

The website is not the greatest but the online interface in my view works pretty well. The rentals are $2.99-$3.99 depending on if it is a new release and also what quality you choose..

If you activate your device you can try a movie for free. At least on mine you could..

Just started using Roku, streams from Netflix for free, or pay per view from Amazon - pay once-watch all day

Doubt that we will use the Amazon pay service, but we have been using the Netflix on the computer for 6 months, and thru the Roku box it seems to be a sharper image. Plus it is wireless thru our router, so it is easy to use.
