so i have the opportunity to buy some magnum mach-lock Stainless Steel 4 blade propellers. I have tired them, and they work great for my application. HOWEVER they do not have rubber hubs, these propellers were made back in the late 80's early 90's and they have a "locking hub". I told the owner of the propellers i would have bought them right away but i was afrade of them not having a rubber rub, and if i hit something with them i should just say goodbye to my lower units. His responce was "oh no! these are the mach lock props, they have a keyway, and if you hit something they unlock, protecting your lower unit; much like a rubber hub would".
Can anyone shed some light on this?! Tell me if what he is saying is true. He wants $200 for the set of stainless props, CHEAP!!!!! and they give me great fuel economy, just worried i would be getting lower unit destroyers. This seems like old techknowlegy but maybe im wrong. he said he bought them because he used to always spin hubs and these were the solution. PLease HELP!!
