Does this guy have a few nuts and bolts that need tightening, maybe even a few screws loose?

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has predicted that Britian, Israel and the United States would eventually disappear from the world like the Egyptian pharaonic kings.
"The oppressive powers will disappear while the Iranian people will stay. Any power that is close to God will survive while the powers who are far from God will disappear like the pharaohs," he said Wednesday, according to Iranian news agencies.



"Today, it is the United States, Britain and the Zionist regime which are doomed to disappear as they have moved far away from the teachings of God," he said in a speech in the western town of Javanroud.

"It is a divine promise."

Anyone else feel this guy is trying to start a war? Or is all of his bombast just for local consumption?

"No prayer in school" - if public school is the only place your children were praying, then you shouldn't be complaining.

Is that not the same thing? If God is taken out of the public, aren't the teachings also?

Might appear that way to some guy in BFEgypt or Iran or whatever. But how many TV stations can you tune in with 24-hour religious programming? How far from your house is the nearest church? How many churches you pass on your way to work? Lot of cities have more churches than they do walmarts. Do you know whether your President has a religious affiliation? Not posting 10 commandments on the courthouse building does not equal taking Christ out of the public eye. If you're saying we (as a nation) are on the high road to hades I'm disagreeing - if you're saying we need more visibility, I won't argue.

Frankly, it is just the sort of blathering that Ahmadinejad spouts & how he ferociously wields religion to justify the return to power of the Arab world that makes me believe all the more in separation of state & religion....
He will use that & any other means to justify the end......
It's the old, " I'm better than you because" theory.....
Because I'm a Muslim, is his deal....
Because the Aryan race is superior was Hitler's deal....
& so on......
Both are right wing nut jobs, IMHO.....
Democracy & the U.S. will stand on its' own two feet without the ten commandments posted on the wall of the Capitol or without prayer in schools.......
Democracy is both the means & the end.....
It doesn't need the 'crutch' of religion to survive & prosper......
