Don't know if this post is against forum rules, and if it gets deleted, I can assume it's not allowed.

I bought a rail-mount flag pole, and it works on 7/8" & 1" rails, by way of a plastic insert. But I lost my insert, or it didn't come with one :(. The retailer is out of the pole kit (closing the store, I bought last one), so that's no help. I know I can use some tape to make the rail 'thicker', but I'm weird, and would rather have the clean look of the insert. So, if you have 1" rails, and bought something that came with the insert, and you'd be willing to part with it, I'd appreciate it.

Cheers!

cut a piece of pvc, and use it for the bushing.

Wouldn't PVC be too thick? The walls of the sleeve would have to be 1/8" if my calculations are right. PVC was a thought though.

why not use a piece or two of old tire inside it will fill the gap and give good grip on the rail

That's a good idea. I my daughter's bike has a flat, so I'll cut her old tube. :)

Oh, and not that it matters, but my math was wrong, the material would have to be 1/16" thick.

Go to a hardware store, Home depot, etc, and buy a few inches of some hard plastic tubing, 1" OD, 7/8" ID. Something similar to Mcmaster Carr 51105K31.

If the intertube doesn't work, use an aluminum roof flashing sold at hardware stores. Or if you can go to a crafts store and buy a sheet of clear plastic. Cut to fit, and it's non corrosive ;)
