I'm looking for a cheap scuba air tank for my paint ball activities.

I set my paint ball gun up with the compressed air tank. A scuba tank is the way to go to refill the tanks quickly and cheap.

If anyone has a tank that they are willing to part with (it doesn't have to be 'dive' certified or anything)... it just needs to hold air.

H.

Homer, you might want to double check. Most air tank refill stations will not refill a tank that does not have a current certification. In addition there are tanks out there that you cannot even get certified. Seems that there was a period of time that tanks were made out of alloys that proved to be brittle.

The refill stations know how to identify those tanks and will neither certify or fill them.

Homerr,

Are you looking to fill the tank to SCUBA pressures (2700 psi-plus) or just home air compressor pressures?

If you're just looking for a portable tank, there are allot of other choices that are easier to service and allot lighter.

Look around an AC repair shop, they should have empty freon tanks, use those.

Ken

Paintball tanks use extremely high pressure. If they were under the ~200psi a freon or propane tank could handle, you'd only get about 3 shots before you needed to refil the tank.

Didn't know that. Now I see the need for high pressure, eg-scuba.

Regardless, you'll need a SCUBA cert. to refill them unless you have other means.

As far as tank cert. goes-without it, you're flirting with disaster.

I sold my aluminum tank (80#-3000 PSI) several years ago. I got tired of the recert. process and I could never take it on trips when I flew. Most of my diving.

Rental is cheaper, in the long run, and no hassle.

I need a high pressure (3000 psi) tank for the paint ball stuff... Home compressors won't work.

I know what you mean about the certification etc... The more I read... I shouldn't mess around with an un-cert tank... 3000 psi is a nasty grenade if it went off. :(

I was just curious if anyone might have one laying around they don't use any more and are willing to part with.

Thanks,

H.

What kind of marker are you using?? I've got an A-5 that I've thought of converting. A friend of mine is a vol. fireman and fills his air at the firehouse. He shoots some wild electronic kilobuck setup. There's some over the top stuff out there.

I picked up an M3 Black Dragun Compact (Sypder)

I'm totally new to this stuff, and with any sport... I can see a person spending a ton of cash on this stuff (like our boats for example...lol).

I only paid $60 for it on EBay, but it had some extra goodies with it.

Some of the Angel brand it outrageous!

H.

Yeah, there's a lot of expensive stuff out there but you don't have to spend alot to have a really good time. We all shoot pretty basic guns except for the one I mentioned above. I think I've got around three hundred in my A-5 and it's just great for me. I have some VL guns that were basically free after buying packages and selling the extra stuff on ebay. I use those too, I don't need anything too fancy.

Sure gets the heart pounding doesn't it? Ever get hit in the mouth? YUCK!

Its a blast! We've got about 4 places locally to go. I've got a $30 annual membership at one and the air is half what everyone else is getting. I've got the Spyder too. There is an average of 30-40 guys playing at any one time
