i have a 1988 Force Outboard and I'm trying to figure out what prop I need. I want to replace the prop on the boat currently but I can't find the pitch listed on the current prop. The boat runs at 4700 rpms at fullthrottle. My manual says 4500-5500 is the normal range so I'm assuming my pitch is wrong anyway. The only numbers I found on the inside of the prop are 62526, it could be a625265, it's been painted so i is tough to tell. What should I do?

I have an 88,85HP Force. What boat is your motor on and how fast does it go at 4700 RPM?

Go here and enter the info. It will tell you what prop shpuld be on your motor. You can go down in pitch to increase your rpms. Props

i have a 17ft bayliner bass trophy. i just called bayliner and they say the prop that came out of the factory was a 13.5 x 17. My spedo does not work but I would gues I was going about 35mph at 4700.

revertmastec, thanks for the website, they told me the same thing as bayliner so it makes me feel better. One question-the website listed 2 choices, one was cupped the other had nothing listed. what is the difference?

I have a 17ft Bayliner Capri and use a Michigan 15 Pitch, part no. 072127 which I believe is cupped. WOT RPM is about 5400 at 35-36 MPH.
I suspect your boat would perform better with a 15 Pitch, especially out of the Hole.
In addition, make sure you are trimmed properly- If you don't have power Trim, try one position out from all the way in.
