Anyone hear of a Blue Fin River Rat boat?

Hi,

I am looking to buy my 1st boat. I am looking at a Blue Fin, River Rat.
It is a 18' center console boat. With a 70HP Mercury Engine.

Does anyone know anything about these boats?
Any advice you could give to a newbie would be great too!

Aluminum boat .... you can't really go wrong

The company is still in business and I have not heard any complaints. Just make sure the previous owner took good care of the motor and it should last a LONG time!

Do you know where I can look up the price of the boat, what it may be worth? Is there a website such as Kelly Blue Book for boats?

Anything I should know about these boats and what to look for when I am checking it out?

nadaguides.com has a boat section...... prices are behind the times and often high

look for hull damage at the keel and along the bottom by the stern.... those are the areas usually beat up the most. Ask about maintenance of the OB when the impellar was last changed, measure the compression and most important is a water test if available
