Anyone here think they have a better job than me?

For those of you that dont know what I do, I manage a rather large car collection and do some restoration in the winter months, and I Bass Guide some in the summer along with the messing with the cars. For someone that loves old cars, and also loves to fish, I think I have died and gone to heaven! <br /><br />Anyone else have a dream job?

Yes. I manage our estate. My commute is about 3 seconds down the hall from the bedroom.

Well,you both got me beat. Contractor by trade, Mechanic and body-man by heart. Unfortuneately w' my income my kids have to come first and i build my cars only as a hobby ...for now.

I give guitar lessons in my home studio and run a ministry........if I can somehow fit fishin in I think I would have you beat.....as it stands think we are tied.

Work for me is something I do so I have gas money for when I'm not working. I envy you bassin' I'm glad that there are people out there loving what they do. I used to have a small remodeling co until my body started to betray me carrying heavy lumber and so on. I still love that type of work and have been redoing a cottage for the past 18 months to live in. I now am a branch mgr for a small community bank which is a great job but doesn't have any sense of completion like building does!

I stumble out of bed at the crack of noon and spend anywhere from a few minutes to a hand full of hours on my computer. I can work anywhere I have an internet connection and a phone...and with satellites, that means anywhere on the planet. About every month or two I have to go down to california for business where I do most of my work overlooking the pacific in Huntington Beach.<br /><br />Yes, I love my job.

I'm with RF, step out of the bedroon into the office. It kinda takes care of itself, so fishing is when I want to.

Kinda like SBN and RF. I have to spend time every morning deciding what I want to do that day. Sometimes it takes me near half a morning to decide. And by then it's time for my pre-nap nap. Afternoons are just as strenuous.

I don't care what you do- work sux. It's the fact that you have to do the job. Funny thing though. Once you DON'T have to do it anymore, it can be fun. <br /><br /> I used to ride as a motorcycle courier. (How's that for a cool job.) 250 miles or so a day around Cincinnati delivering parcels, letters and small packages to various firms around town. I spent my days riding a Honda Silverwing and talking to pretty receptionists. Plus I made good money doing it. However, around 3 or 4 o'clock, I was done riding and was ready to go home. What would I do then? LOL I'd call a buddy and we'd go riding somewhere for an hour or two. It was much more enjoyable once I wasn't <br />"on the clock" anymore. <br /><br /> I'll agree with you LD- it sounds like you have the ideal job. But, I still think that word "work" is a four-letter deal. <br /><br />UFM82

well I dunno if its good or bad.<br /> I never have the same job twice.<br /> I come and go mostly as I please, I bill between 45 and 75/hr for my time.<br /> I can boat ride everyday and not have to pay for the gas, I work on the water most days and beside it everyday.<br />its fun and I am respected by most dealers.<br /> so I guess I have a decent gig going.<br />I guess the fact that I absolutly love what I do helps a bit. however my artheritis is no longer in love with it. so I may have to back off some and try to teach it instead of doing it.

Well, I see some of you guys are living the good life. As for me I'm a self employed furniture refinisher. My shop is 50 foot from the house. Most days I work about 4 hrs. Sometimes I have to kick it in gear if one of the kids college tuition is due or something, but most days I just cruise. Also, I live 2 blocks from a 15000 acre impoundment, so life is pretty good here too.<br /><br />Dave
