I have just acquired a terrybass boat that was a good friend of mine who passed it is fiberglass blue and white but I know nothing about
his wife said he bought it a long time ago and kept it in the garage until last summer and he took it out to use it but got sick and never recovered
the card I got with it from her was one he kept in his wallet and it was just a state registration card and it said the year was 1970 and maker unknown and it also has a new state issued serial number so apparently someone took the old one off years ago it looks bad due to it setting outside under a tree for a few months
I haven't checked for rot yet but everything feels solid I need to clean more to test for rot
but does anyone know anything about this boat
any info would be great
thanks
I cleaned up on it and got good results as you can see hopefully no rot

RC, This is what's known as a "Stick Steer" Narrow Beam Tri-Hull bass boat. I had a Chrysler boat almost exactly like her. Probably made in the 70's. Very stable boat and really nice to fish out of. Takes a while to get used to the stick steer but after one outing you'll get the hang of it. Check for soft spots in the floor/deck. If none found then more than likely she's ok below deck. Raise the motor and then bounce HARD on the lower leg of the motor and see if the transom flexes even just a little. If not then more than likely it's ok too. Check around all the bolt holes for and discoloration. Remove some of the bolts and check for moisture. Check the inside of the transom for cracks or gouges. Anything that looks like water might have penetrated. Check under the boat for big scratches or gouges and make needed repairs. Wet Sanding and Polishing will probably clean up the gelcoat and restore the shine quite a bit. If you like to fish back in the brush, this is a great boat to do it with.
