Anyone know of an aftermarket supplier for these bearings?

I'm still in a bit of sticker shock after picking up some OMC bearings this morning. I'm in the midst of rebuilding several mid 1980s 6/7.5/8hp Johnrudes and a couple of them were in need of rod-to-crankshaft bearings. Normally, I like to buy my bearings through Kaman or the like, but these weren't available from them, so I had to go OEM. Part #396068 (Bearing Set w/Retainer) retailed for $48.33 EACH!!! Durn near worth their weight in gold!

Anyone know of an aftermarket source for these, or perhaps a discount OEM source? These bearings are common to a lot of the small Johnrudes of the 1970s and 1980s and I rebuild a lot of them, so a cheaper source would be great! Thanks in advance!

- Scott

Hi Dhadley,
The old bearings were severely watermarked. I found a good used crankshaft on eBay and now I want to get this bad boy together. I also bought another complete powerhead on eBay, but the guy "lost the bearings". These were built during that brief era of 100:1 mixtures and I've seen a lot of them with some degree of watermarking on the bearings. Just not enough protection for non-use periods...
- Scott
