splice more wire to their tiny tach?Messed up and didnt order the longer cable,wishing i did now;cant put it where i like.Do you think cutting and attaching more wire will affect the read out.Probably will impedance thing,right?

Just wondering if anyones tried this...while i have you here,has anyone ever taking one apart to see the inner workings(ie:battery)

I would check with the manufacturer to see if the offer longer length cables for your tach. If they offer ones longer than the one you have, it would follow that adding to the length of the cable you have would be ok, IF, you make good splices. When it comes to splices, there is definitely a wrong way to do it.

Seems to me I read on iBoats somewhere that you cannot just splice more wire into it. They calibrate somehow based on wire length.
