Re: Anyone use Rocket Flaps?

Thanks, rnsi,

I found that thread with the search. But no one there actually confesses to using them. Are there any users out there?

Mark.

I think I would go with the Smart Tabs. US made and sold here, not having to deal with an overseas company.
Also cheaper, and many testimonials here on iboats.

I would put the STabs on my boat but I don't have room on the transom with the kicker.

I use the Smart Tabs. Looking at the rockets, that whole thing about water filling the cylinders... I think it's just one more maintainance thing. Check John's response in the above thread. Makes sense to me.

I'm very happy with my smart tabs. The boat drives like a car now. So much safer.

Hey John- do I get a check yet?

I plan to go with smart tabs in the spring, but thought it would be prudent to check out all the alternatives.

The draw backs (as I see it) to the rocket flaps seem to be the water filled cylinder. Once it is retracted, it no longer provides any stabilizing functionality, where the smart tab will continue to function at speed, in turns, crossing wake, etc.
