I use the TeamSpeak program while internet gaming and surfing.

It allows you to talk to each other over the net like the Yahoo does, only the big difference is you can set up different rooms and such.

One person creates the server and the rest join in. It has more controls than Yahoo as well.
Downside is: Someone has to set up a server and use bandwidth. On Yahoo, we use theirs.

If one of us here is willing to donate some of their FAT bandwidth, you could set up a server and leave it on, or turn it on a certain time. Then we could simply join in and talk away.
I would do it, but my bandwidth is limited. :(

Check it out if you think you want to give it a try:

TeamSpeak

My game clan uses an older version for compatibility issues with our server, but I'm sure the newer version would work well on most of our computers.

H.

Don't play games and such but I do use the starchat server ever now and again and it's pretty neat also.
It's a back up to the yahoo one.

I know a bunch of the guys at warfactory.net were talking about this. used to be an admin there, doing local lan parties.

...how much bandwidth does it suck up?... have the picture hosting machine for iboats folks that could be used it isn't too bandwidth intensive.
