Sorry to offend. I had no idea that it would. :(

I guess we all can make a mistake now and then, but do we have to throw a tantrum when we get poofed??

Re: Apology

It's amazing how many people here still don't get it...this is iboat's site and we all play by iboat's rules. Seems pretty simple?

I guess we also have to be accountable for missing a post here or there too. Tell you what, no more Grandma jokes because mine died last week, no more blonde jokes because my blond girlfriend drove off a cliff. It was a funny joke and I think had you not been personally affected, you would have found it funny too. All you did is USE your personal tragedy to get back at JB for deleting SBN's jokes . Nice...why can't children play nice?

BTW...there is a difference between being hanged and hanging yourself. Someone hanging someone else is a tragic murder, someone hanging themself is suicide...the ultimate act of SELFISHNESS which deserves no respect.

Goodbye iboats Dockside Chat, all the good people on here and even all you religious freaks out there who, as always, will fuel the conflict of the world. The technical forums are great..this section has gone to heII in a handbasket

No tantrum here. It was decided that the joke was off a little so I deleted it. That's all.
And bay5884 if you ever look again, I deleted the jokes, not JB.

Re: Apology

Bay, how nice of you to drop by DC and post your opinion, thats what its all about here.

I was the mod that deleted the Cerealdude thread and it was posted by guageguy not SBN. As a moderator of Dockside Chat, I do my best to keep this place clean. I admit I jumped the gun on that thread but felt it was going downhill fast. When a thread takes a turn for the worse and it has no chance of getting better I delete it.

Thank you all for trying for the most part, to stay within the guidelines of good taste.

Mod4

Re: Apology

Thanks mod4, at least I know now that it was deleted because it may head south instead of something that was within it already. I was kind of curious, cause it was LMAO funny there for awhile. ;)

BTW, do you have the power to bring it back if we promise to not let it go down the drain? ;)

Re: Apology

guageguy, I cannot retreive a post once its deleted.

Just keep in mind that even slightly off-color
jokes degrade iboats and their business.

At times we forget that we are not alone in this area of the board and that its not our private chat room. iboats customers wander over here as well as those utilizing our free repair forums which is why we have strict rules in this area of the forum.

It's hard to please everyone all of the time. I'm sure my getting up in the morning offends the heck out of my ex :p

Just a couple of items, but it appears the one I'd like most to see has gone:
Bay5884 wrote:
If, in fact, I came across that way, then I should be apologizing to JB. JB, maybe I was being a little too sensitive and should have just kept out of it. So please accept my apology.

Bay 5884 wrote:
Thanks for pointing out the differences. But as one of the 'survivors', I can say that while the act itself may have been selfish and deserving of no respect, the end result was still just as tragic.
I truly hope you never have to experience a tragedy as monumental as this, but I pray that if you do, that you'll receive the respect, sympathy and compassion that most have shown me on this board.
Go in peace!

Does the software that is used to run this board allow you to show what members and how many guests are on the site?

Re: Apology

I missed it again?
I agree that this section has often gotten out of hand. I've been ticked off by posts here before, but usually let it go. I did recently post 'a new business venture' that made fun of the gay marriage B.S. I know it was wrong, but in doing so tried to make a point. It was intended as a joke, but was poofed before I got back from the throne!
As I understand that iboats has a rule, no personal attacks.
But in this warm and fuzzy world, if you want to get technical, everything said will eventually offend someone, who may take it as a personal attack. This is part of the diversity crock that I cannot stand!
I'm glad I'm not a mod and have to make that decision!
So, what's the point of this post? Uh.... I forgot.
Just my .02 worth!
