I have a 1986 Capri 1950 with AQ131 Volvo Penta 275 with factor 14X19R prop . Has any experienced while on plain the steering wheel likes to torque to the left if the wheel is let loose. Or might know what would cause this. Thanks Bob

I think no704 means turn the exhaust snout on the bottom of the cavitation plate.
Standing behind the boat.If it pulls to the left: turn the snout to the left.
I believe it's a 1/4in allen wrench.

I believe it's a 1/4in allen wrench.

You need a gallon of lubricant, rust remover, corrosion evaporator before putting that wrench on there.
Most likely it has not moved in 28 years.

And, it may not help,
You did not say if your prop is left hand on right hand. The manual shows different snout angles for each.
Mine is set correct and my boat will pull also (forget if it's port or starboard).

If it runs straight, you may be tempted to leave the helm and go check on the beer!

Thanks Dennis I did list the prop as as a 14X19R Right handed. I have never seen any literature showing Snout angles. If you have this can you share it? The way it veers to the left is more then I would expect. Thanks Bob

5 degrees port, LH prop single stern drive
30 degrees port RH prop single stern drive

So, if it looks like it's straight back, someone switched from LH to RH without adjusting

Some have had some luck changing props.
From RH to LH rotation.
Very important if your gonna try that.
The aftermarket props don't always work well.
The 4cyl. needs the wide blades of the Volvo prop.

Thanks guys. Dennis I took a look at it and it was about 5 degrees starboard. That is while standing behind the boat looking at the unit the exhaust outlet is pointing 5 deg to the right = starboard. So with a 14X19 Right prop the exhaust port should point 30 deg left = port . Correct? I did check to see if it would break loose. No problem the bold has anti seize on it. I just need to reset it. Thanks again Bob
