AQ Outdrive Lubricant Recomendation

What is the current thought on outdrive fluid for an AQ280 outdrive. SAE30 motor oil in 1989 is a lot different than todays SAE30.
Has anyone heard any recomendations from V-P? Personnal experience? Has anyone used AMSOIL Marine products? What about todays synthetic SAE30?

I use Amsoil marine gear lube in my 290DP. However the DP drives require GL-5 gear lube.
