AQ125 water pump impeller

since this part on my engine is becoming very difficult to find is there anything I can do to the impeller to make it last longer than a year or two? Could I take it out of the water pump and soak it in a particular solution over the winter or is it best just to leave it in the water pump?

sorry i forgot this info. It is a 1983 Volvo AQ125 from a 1983 Bayliner Capri 195. Just looking for some ways to prolong this parts life.

Nothing really you can do to make it last longer.
Some take them out,most don't.
The impeller can be found all over.
Try Sierra.
