Hello, I just received a 1985 bayliner 1950 caprie with a valve Aq125a. I got this boat and was told it was winterized already and the previous owner new absolutely nothing about the motor. So far I have found one petcock open on the manifold but beside it is another open hole. I'm sure this is the raw water side as when I filled the strainer water poured out. I looked in the boat and there is no "cap/bolt/petcock" anywhere. So my first question would be what kind of bolt is needed here? Metric sae fine or corse thread?
Also, on the fresh water side there was no antifreeze/water under the cap. I poured in 50/50 mix and noticed it all drained out from a barbed connection on the block under the manifold. What exactly does this connection connect to? From quite a few hours of research the concensus seems this is the coolant drain. There is nothing connected here and nothing in the boat. Do I just plug a hose here and cap it or does a hose connect here and get routed somewhere else?
Please don't say to reference the service manual as 99% of these post recommend. I do not own a computer and do all research from a phone that will not allow or display these files. I'm looking for a simple answer like "cap it" or "rout to under t-stat" and 1/2x28 fine thread.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
