With the muffs on ,how much water should I expect to see exiting the engine? What is the operating temp for this engine 180 ? Would a ocean water temp of 90 make a difference ?
With the muffs on,if I don't have good flow should I expect an obstruction ? The impeller is new.
Thanks
Eddie

Re: Aq125a on muffs

180 is the correct temp. 90 degree sea water should not matter.

Muffs really fail on this setup, there is a hole in the bottom of the outdrive that needs to be plugged and the water needs to be turned up really high.

I prefer attaching the garden hose directly to the rubber coupling hose at the back of the engine between the motor's copper pipe and the OD's chrome pipe. The hose will fit in and just clamp it down. The water can't get past the impeller when the motor is not running though, so turn off the hose when the motor is off.

The lack of flow is probably an air leak in the outdrive or insufficient water pressure. You can replace the coupling hose with a clear hose temporarily to check for air bubbles, or just hook the garden hose up to the outdrive (up top using the rubber coupling hose to the chrome hose) and backflush the outdrive to see where the water leaks out from.

Re: Aq125a on muffs

Thanks fir the info. I used the hose, and just plugged the bottom hole. That was enough to flush it. . I might have an obstruction ? Thanks again for the help.
