I want to start my boat safely out of the water. I have a volvo penta aq125a with a closed cooling system. Would I still need to hook up some sort of hose? I read that volvo engines has a garden hose attachment. Would that apply to a closed cooling system as well? I can't find anything but I want to make sure I don't mess anything up.

Ayuh,.... Yer motor still has a raw water pump with a rubber impeller to supply water to cool the antifreeze in the heat exchanger,....

So,... Yes, you Still need to supply a steady stream of water to run it safely...

I donno how yer's is plumbed, so can't say as to a hose hookup...

Be sure to keep a fresh supply of water going into the tub to keep from recycling wamer and warmer water. Any way you do this it will get really wet around there :)
