I have a Volvo peta Aq125a motor overheating problem I have replaced impeller water pump thermostat cleaned heat exchanger checked for air leaks ran it again with a temp ray gun gauge said it was running around 240 put temp gun on block it was reading 180 put new temp sesor in still showing 240 250 temp gun showing 180 my question is can I get a gauge from auto parts store or are they different tried to install manual gauge but can't find the Wright adapter to fit the block leaving for the lake today no more time to order parts

You may be drawing air from the joint where the lower gear housing mates to the support bracket, there is an "O" ring that seals where the parts mate. Also look at the water hose from the nipple to the transom housing sometimes the connection where the hose connects to the nipple it is rotted off or the hose is broken. It is an easy fix if that is the problem . Also make sure the exhaust manifold is not partially stopped up.
