aq130 swap

I have a question I have an aq130 with a 270 outdrive if my block is cracked will a mercruiser 140 fit in the engine compartment with a little work to make the engine mouts line up? I know the 270 will work with the merc 140 any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

No, you can't swap the 140 for the aq130. There's nothing similar between the two. You may be able to find an auto block to replace the cracked one,

I believe there is a thread here about a "frankenstein" boat with a VP AQ series outdrive and a 140 but unless you're a sadist, that's probably isn't a good idea! The B20 (AQ130) blocks are around as are the overhead cam 4 cylinder engines. If it were me, I'd investigate that route for a plug n' play swap.
