Hi, the Alternator on my AQ130D, has busted, i need to purchase a new one.. When i go to volvopentastore.com and search all i get is Replaced With "3580728" but everywhere I search that is just a Conversion Kit of some sort. Please provide some assistance... I dont have access to the part number of the one i have at this time, since i am at work but i will look it up when i get home. But like i said according to Volvopentastore it says that my part number should be 3580728...Please assist.

Just look for a 10si marine. You can get several different outputs and they are single wire hook up. You may have to drill out the pivot boss but it will work.

Why not get your current alternator rebuilt?

You know it will fit. It will support your local economy, and give a re-builder some business during the slow winter months. Probably far cheaper than buying an entire replacement from Volvo... ;)

Usually a lot cheaper, and they look like new when you get them back from a competent rebuilder. Look in your phone book for starter/alternator/electric motor repair.

It is a little trickier, in my opinion.

Yes, drill out for the slightly larger metric bolt.
On mine, the fan blades hit the mount, and that needed grinding.
The adjustable slotted bracket does not line up properly, so I made a new one.
I also used the second wire on my boat so I could have an idiot light (rather that convert to one-wire); it also helps get an output from the alternator under low RPM's. Could use a resistor instead if you do not want to add a light toi the helm.

I kept the original alternator as a spare.

Wow

The 131 is a OHC............. The 130 is OHV. two different animals.

Yes you have to clearance the fins on a 131. but the 130 is a whole different animal. Don't be afraid to step into the 21 first century and get at least 85 amps JMHO but 35 amps is like 1965. And why do you need a light if you have a voltmeter

So the unit says its a S.E.V Marchall A14/35 (14 volt ,35 amp?)
70229402 41 6
I am wondering if this unit is past repair... and the repair shop said they would charge around 150-200 since its a old marine unit... and i dont know whether a new one would be the better option...
When i search for 70229402 under google i dont get much for the shopping option...
