Im having and issue where I'm loseing power after the boat is already at cruiseing speed. once I leave the dock I can hammer the throttle and she get right up to speed. After im up to speed the engine will start losing power dropping from roughly 4200rpm. To barley maintains 3k at wot. The 1st time I was a bit out from the dock limped in back and she died when I put it in neutral, and would not restart. Took it home, replaced the fuel filter, and it fired it up. Put 10 gallons of fresh and some fuel treatment in it and took it back out. And same.thing happened but I managed to keep it running when I got to the dock where It would rev in neutral just fine. Also restarted fine.
Since then I have verified that all the fuel lines, including the screen on the pickup tube in the tank are free of debris. Bench tested the fuel pump to verify it moves fuel( havnt verified fuel pressure, or possible heat soak issue yet) and verified that the jets in the carb are free of debris the accelerator pump is functioning and adjusted properly.
Any one.have any similar issues? Suggestions on where to go next? I may test the coil and take a peak under the distributor cap. im really not sure where to look next. And trying.to avoid just throwing parts at it
