AQ131a Carb rebuild question

I took the carb apart, replaced parts and cleaned it. Upon putting it back together I became confused. The piece that looks like a gasket with a metal circle and nipple in the center. It's accompanied by a spring and the outer cover(4 little bolts). Does it go cover, spring, gasket? Or is it cover, gasket, spring? does the spring sit in that well in the carb? Or does it go inbetween the gasket and cover?

I have a diagram and it looks as though the spring goes just inside the cover but I'm not sure.

Sorry for the newb question!

Thanks!

I believe you are speaking of the accelerator pump and the the gasket is actually the accel pump diaphragm.

If it is, then it should be cover, diaphragm, then spring (from outside in). The diaphragm is pushed out in the resting state by the spring, the actuating lever pushes the metal nipple and diaphragm in, which pushes more gas in, kinda like a mini primer bulb.

Thanks for the answer :)

So the spring sits in that little cavity then right?

What youre saying makes sense, the pumping effect is null when i have the spring inbetween the diaphram and cover. The diagram i was looking at seems to be opposite...

anyway, thanks again
