Hi everyone. I need to install a new fuel pump on my stock AQ145A with two Solex single barrel carbs. so whats the general thoughts on fuel delivery for these motors? Should i stick with the original mechanical fuel pump or should i switch to a low pressure electric fuel pump?

thanks for your thoughts.

The cost of either is a bunch.
The electric should be a marine grade.
The OEM is a dealer item and probably 2-300$

Don't use a cheap electric.

Sierra sells aftermarket stuff they might have what you need.

I believe the pressure is 4-7# on the pump you need.

The Sierra aftermarket is $80 through any Sierra supplier.
I couldn't find it on this site
I sent you a PM.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I was looking at the banjo bolt on the fuel intake line on the Solex downdraft carb. It looks like a 1/8 NPT - but when I took it out and tried to match the threads it in reality appears to be a standard non tapered 10.0mm x 1.00 fine thread. If I attempt to screw in a 1/8NPT hose barb fitting I will likely strip out the threads on the carb. does anyone have any knowledge of this??

thanks
