Hi to all...
Well iv'e got another question about the proper gap for my AQ151...I have the workshop manual of this engine and under
Setting for regular gasoline, min 91 octane ROT:
Basic setting.............6deg BTDC (0-14.17r/s=0-850rpm)
Strobscope setting.....32-36deg BTDC (70 rs/=4200 rpm)
Contact Gap..............0.40mm (0.01575")
Dwell angle...............62+-deg

Now on the back of the Owner's manual the last owner wrote this:
Point setting .... .016-.017
Plug gap.......... .028-.032

My question is do i set my points on the higest point of the distributor to the Contact Gap of 0.40mm or the Point setting the last owner wrote of .016??

Thanks!!!

The gap setting is just a preliminary step to get you close to the dwell number. Gap with a feeler gauge tends to be different for each persons feel. Once you get the gap set, check the dwell. Adjust the points from there to get the dwell at 62? or 63? for best results.

Look a little closer at the specs. 0.040 mm converts to 0.01575 INCHES. Close enough to 0.016!
