Aq170a impeller cover

can someone tell me why they made this and the screws out of brass? I was installing and was putting the last screw in the cover and it broke off. I am wondering can stainless or any other type of screw be used?

That's going to be hard to do, unless you find the engineer that designed it and ask him. No one on these forums can tell you WHY something was designed the way it was. all they can do is guess. Which still doesn't answer your question or help either.

Sure, you can use stainless, it's your pump.

thanks Don, i found some stainless at my Menards for 20cents apiece. Will assemble and run in the coming days.
