AQ200D hard to start

Recently bought a Fairline Carrera 24 with twin AQ200D engines. The boat had not been used for about a year. Both engines are difficult to start. I've cleaned the distributor cap contacts, the ignition is electronic, replaced both coils, new spark plugs, flushed the engine oil prior to renewing, the carbs are Rochester 2bbl which have been treated with carb cleaner, the fuel is fresh.When they do start, once warm they tick over smoothly at about 1000rpm, accelerate easily with no hesitation. The problem is the same on both engines, fuel supply is good but they take it in turns to be the most obstinate. I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any suggestions please

if they start fine when warm, I am willing to bet its something easy.

Turn on fuel & batteries. 2/3 pumps of throttle, turn on ignition for 1 engine, turn key to start. Engine turns over eventually fires, slowly on all cylinders.if I open the throttle to soon engine dies. Then repeat with no 2 engine. If non starter leave for a few minutes then retry. Sometimes 1 of them will just not start at all, fires but then dies.

Are you starting with the throttle-only in the idle position, or slightly advanced?

Starting instructions for carbed motors ( remember, marine carbs do not have a fast idle cam)

Turn blowers on
After 3-5 minutes
Push button at pivot of controls, give motor 2 full pumps, then set throttle to 1/3 (this is the step you overlooked - remember, no fast idle cam )
Turn key, once motor starts, adjust throttle to 1500 rpm for 2-3 minutes then pull back to neutral to re-engage shifter
Repeat on second motor

Start with throttle in idle position, if I open throttle even a small amount the engines flood.
My Rochester 17059059 carbs have fast idle cams and electric automatic chokes
