Took the invader out today and it ran great, nice and cool, good oil pressure, topped out at 64 mph great torque coming out of the hole, however the trim wouldnt come up while driving unless i was would slow down and the hit the throttle again. It goes down just fine, i looked at the oil in the pump And its super old and dirty, probably hasnt been changed since the boat was new in 89. Im hoping that bleeding the system will resolve it. Any input on why it wouldnt come up while in motion

I guess the first question is which pump you have?

Re: Aq271c/ dp-a trim help.

I forgot to post it in the last reply, but make sure the hoses are hooked up to the right.
Hose 1, hooks to 4
Hose 2, hooks to 3

Make sure they are correct. One direction is high pressure the other is low pressure.
it's possible the wiring is wrong, and instead of fixing the wiring the hoses were swapped. Have seen it many times.

I will check tonight when i bleed it, even thought the trim works both ways when not moving, swapped hoses could cause that?

Sure, like I said, one hose is higher pressure than the other, trimming up takes a LOT more pressure because it has to work against the force of the props.

well sure enough the lines were crossed..after correcting that issue i simply swapped the signal wires on the two relays to make it work correctly again, i am taking it out again in the morning, we shall see how she does! thanks a ton Don!

Re: Aq271c/ dp-a trim help.

Don- after going through the manual for my drive and the pumps..i think your information is crossed, correct me if i wrong but you said line 1 goes to line 4, and line 2 goes to 3...well in the manual line 1 is low pressure and 3 is low pressure, 2 and 4 are high pressure..

from the manual-

18. Should the low pressure hoses (1) and high pressure
hoses (2) need to be disconnected for any reason
it is vital that they be reconnected to the correct
hose connection.
The figures above show how the hoses shall be connected
on the inside and outside of the transom
shield.
NOTE! The outer low pressure hose (3) is marked
white and the outer high pressure hose (4) is marked
red.

Is there a way to test the pump to see if its pushing correct pressure once i swap the lines and wiring again?
